My name is Sarah and I have been a Personal Trainer for over 15 years. My passion in life is to empower women and help them feel great about themselves. This is my drive and what inspires me to be an example of health.
My story begins when I was about 19 years old. I had some major life threatening surgery on a tumour in my neck that required months of rehabilitation afterwards. This was when my love of the gym began. I loved the way exercise made me feel and how I could create a different body by doing weights and cardio. I did some travel in my early 20’s which resulted in a lot of weight gain (as you can see from the first picture!). When I returned to Australia I was on a mission to lose weight and as I achieved some great results I started to notice that I could inspire others to exercise and decided to become a Personal Trainer. I completed my course and worked in a gym gaining more experience and growing as a trainer. I loved working with my clients and seeing the amazing transformations!
In 2011 I became pregnant with my first child and I put on a lot of weight (over 20kgs in fact!). After I had my son in June 2012 I wanted to go back to feeling good again so set about to lose the weight that I had put on. I actually found it easier than ever this time, something had shifted in me and the weight easily fell off. I lost 30kg and was now 10kg lighter than when I fell pregnant. I felt like I was in the best shape I’d been in my entire life and I was 35 years old! During this time I had learnt to drop the obsession with food, to learn to eat when I was hungry and stop constantly snacking. I also reduced my portions dramatically and stopped the cycle of binge eating followed by restriction of food.
